Since February 2024, I have been a member of the project support committee of the IGF lead technology project ‘Development of innovative energy efficiency strategies based on novel and additively manufactured ceramic hydrogen burner components -KerKoWas’.

The three research centres carrying out the project are ifw Jena, the Frauenhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS and the Chair of Energy Process Engineering at TU Dresden.

The background of this development project is to advance the substitution of traditional fuel gases such as natural gas with hydrogen.

Together with other representatives from the industry, I am consulting on the development and testing of new ceramic materials that are to be used in the future for burner components subject to high thermal and material stresses.
